     Spectrum Microwave offers a complete line of Digitally Tuned Oscillators (DTO). These custom designed assemblies consist of a select number of sub-band VCOs covering customer specific frequency ranges between 2GHz and 18GHz. The sub-band RF outputs are selectively switched to a common RF output port. Sufficient sub-band overlap insures full band coverage. Digital tuning is via a 16 bit, parallel input word. Several bits are used for selecting the desired sub-band and 12 to 14 bits are used for frequency tuning.
Silicon semiconductors are used to provide the best possible phase noise and post tuning drift performance. Hybrid MIC technology reduces overall package size and helps ensure overall system reliability. Fast settling time and excellent spectral purity make Spectrum DTOs ideal for simulators and other EW applications.

       Spectrum Microwave offers a line of low noise frequency multipliers based on multiple passive doubler/amplifier combinations. These custom designed assemblies cover input frequency ranges of 5 to 500 MHz with output frequencies in the range of 100 to 1000 MHz. Narrowband or broadband devices are available. Additive phase noise testing ensures low phase noise/jitter performance. All internal amplifiers and doublers are contained in rugged TO-8 hermetic packages for excellent performance over military environmental conditions.

     The 310-027023-01 Harmonic Multiplier provides the system designer with a compact, low phase noise building BLOCK for Reference Oscillator multiplication applications.
     A linear amplifier drives a step recovery diode thereby multiplying an input 100 MHz clock signal by a factor of 26. A pair of 3-pole ceramic Bandpass filters and a pair of linear driver amplifiers improves the spurious response.
    This unit exhibits very little degradation of input reference signals, multiplying to the desired output frequency while only degrading the input phase noise performance by 30 dB.

   Spectrum Microwave’s 7-Channel RF Pre-selector filter provides 7 selectable RF filter channels with Ultimate Rejections out to 18 GHz. Modular construction allows customization of band splits to provide continuous overlapping band performance.
 
  Channels 1 thru 6 are Miniature Lumped Element Bandpass Filters while Channel 7 is an Interdigital Cavity Filter. This low-profile Filter Bank provides Excellent Low-Ripple Passband Performance while Suppressing Ultimate Rejections by 70 dB out to 20GHz.

   Three control pins provide TTL selection of the desired operating channel. The unit is bi-directional with SMA field removvable connectors TBD L x 3.10” W x 0.35” H excluding SMA connectors and control pins. Final length depends upon customer requirements for filter performance.The chassis is machined aluminum with a silver plate finish. Control pins are .030” dia.

  Spectrum Microwave’s synthesizers offer wide bandwidth, multiple step size options, fast switching speed, and low phase noise combined with the cost advantages of standardized packages. Frequency control options include Serial/parallel inputs, BCD/Binary format, or traditional thumbwheel switches.

  Spectrum also offers a several different options for locking to a specific source. The customer may choose internal reference crystal oscillators or low ppm OCXO’s. External reference frequencies can range from 10-100 MHz, depending on the customer’s system.

  These synthesizers feature rugged construction and the latest circuit techniques which makes them suitable for either military or commercial applications.

  Spectrum Microwave also designs and manufactures custom Direct Digital Synthesizer signal sources from 10 MHz to 14 GHz. Our designs use an embedded microcontroller which digitizes the analog control voltage (or reads the digital tuning word), then calculates and loads proper control words into the registers of the DDS.
